Vibe Coding & AI-Native Development: A Review

Mukhtar Rihan, LDCE

Abstract: The tandem trends of vibe coding—expressing software intent in natural language and letting AI generate code—and AI-native development—designing systems from the ground up with AI as an intrinsic capability—are reshaping how software is conceived, built, and governed. This review defines both concepts, traces their technical and social drivers, surveys representative tools and developer workflows, examines risks (quality, security, accountability), and outlines governance and engineering best practices for safe, productive adoption
